Free POS Trial in Cambodia: A Checklist to Test Before You Commit
Switching to a POS is a big step for a small business. You’re changing how your team sells, how you track stock and how you read your numbers. That’s why a free trial matters, but only if you use it well. Many owners sign up, click around for ten minutes, and never find out whether the system fits their shop. MyLekha’s Starter plan is a free trial for new shops that want to test a cloud POS before upgrading. It includes 1 store, 2 staff accounts and 2 POS devices, enough to run real sales. Here’s how to use it properly.
Before you start: Free POS Trial in Cambodia
- Pick one real counter or one real shift to test. A small, real test teaches more than a big imaginary one.
- Choose one person to lead. Ideally the person who will use it most, such as the cashier or the owner.
- Give yourself about a week. That’s enough time to see a few busy and quiet days.
- Have your device ready. MyLekha runs on a phone, tablet or desktop, so you can start with what you already have.
The checklist
1. Add your products
Enter your 15 to 20 best-selling items first, with prices. You don’t need the whole catalog on day one. If you sell items in different colors or options, try one of them to see how variants work.
2. Run test sales
Ring up five or six sales the way a real customer would buy. Time yourself. Is it faster than your current method?
3. Try scanning
Test barcode scanning with your phone or tablet camera. If you plan to use a dedicated scanner later, you can connect one as well.
4. Test your payment types
Most Cambodian shops take more than cash. Try a sale in USD and one in riel, then try the KHQR and ABA PAY payment popups, which appear on screen at checkout.
5. Try a discount
Apply a percentage discount to one item and an amount discount to a whole sale. Check that the total is what you expect.
6. Print a receipt
If you have a receipt printer, connect it and print. Check that your shop name and details look right. See Branded Receipts and Invoices for customizing templates.
7. Create a staff login
Add a second person with their own account, so you can see how individual access feels. Starter includes 2 staff accounts. Read Employee Management and Access Control for why this matters.
8. Handle a mistake
Process a refund or correct a wrong item. How a system handles mistakes matters as much as how it handles sales.
9. Check your numbers
At the end of the day, open the reports or the MyLekha Dashboard. Do the sales match what you rang up? Can you find what you need quickly?
10. Ask your team
After a few days, ask the cashier what was easy and what was confusing. They use it more than anyone.
How to decide
Ask yourself three questions:
- Was it faster or at least as fast as my current way?
- Could my staff use it with little training?
- Did the reports show me something I couldn’t see before?
If the answer is yes to most, you’re ready. If you’re unsure which plan to move to, read Which POS Plan Is Right for Your Business.
Conclusion
A free trial is only useful if you test the things that matter to your business. Use this checklist, run real sales for a week, and you’ll know whether the system fits before you spend anything.
